AGO Restaurant

AGO was an iconic Italian Restaurant founded by the celebrated chef Agostino Sciandri in partnership with Robert De Niro, bringing the spirit of an elevated Tuscan trattoria to West Hollywood. For over two decades, it became a landmark celebrities destination known for its authentic Italian cuisine and timeless hospitality.

I developed the brand identity and visual language for the Los Angeles opening on Melrose Avenue, as well as the brand's expansion into additional cities like New York & Miami. The initial logo was a simple leaf with the three letters Inspired by Italian heritage, the custom typography was crafted from research into vintage letterforms, while the signature leaf motif reinterpreted Florence's historic Giglio symbol. Influenced by the landscapes of Tuscany, winemaking, and nature, the identity extended across menus, packaging, environmental graphics, murals, signage, and digital touch-points, creating a modern and immersive brand experience.

Although the original West Hollywood location closed in 2020 after more than 20 years, AGO remains an enduring example of hospitality branding rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless Italian design.
